"We thank you, our Father, for the boyhood picture of Jesus Christ. We praise you for the knowledge that he was natural and genuine when a child, that he was not injured by new and remarkable experience, and that in willing obediene he went back from the temple to his quiet home. We thank you that he is our children's patterm. Amen."

"Almighty God, give us such confidence in you that we may trust you at all times. Give us such knowledge of our own weakness that we may rely on you alone. We thank you for the sympathy and love which you have in your common suffering with us. May we give this comfort to those who know you not. Amen."

"Our gracious and loving Father, we are grateful that you have given to us such a wonderful illustration of self-sacrifice in Jesus Christ your Son. We thank you that he never thought of himself, but always regarded life as valuable only in so far as he could give us his own pleasures for the good of others. Teach us to be like him. We pray for his sake. Amen."

"We thank you for your greatness, O God, and that you have been seen in the gentle and loving nature of Jesus Christ, who made himself of no reputation. He took upon himself the form of a servant. We thank you for your earnest followers who have so reflected and exemplefied his life. Help us to be like them in childlike humility. In Jesus' name. Amen."

May the transfiguration of Christ mean the trasformation of our lives. May we see you as a Saviour in our justification, but see you as a Sanctifier through the Holy Spirit. Amen."

"May we, our Father in heaven, ever value the great blessing of your presence. May the knowledge of the historic Christ never take from us the reality of the present, living Christ, and may we know that even now you live to intercede for us. In Jesus' name. Amen."
