"Almighty and most merciful God, forgive us as individuals and as a nation for breaking the command to keep holy the Sabbath day. Deliver us, we pray thee, from a careless disregard of the Sabbath. April 3

"Help us, O God, to depend upon you in our moments of trial and perplexity. May we look with joy and faith into all life's experiences, realizing that patience and well-doing, belief and confidence in you, will enable us to do sucessful and complete work. Amen."

For the Day Before Easter

"Our risen Lord, we praise you for the power that you had to roll away the stone and come forth from the grave. May we gain the victory of faith whenever we are called upon to face the sad problem of death, and now that in you death means victory. Amen."

For Good Friday

"May no thought be nearer us today, O Christ, than that of your great victory over sin and death. As we think of you, suffering on the cross upon the very day of the year which we commemorate, may we look beyond and think of the beauty of your resurrection which overcomes the gloom of the tomb. Amen."

April 2

May those who are at ease in Zion arouse themselves to the world's need and suffering, realizing that all gifts of life are from you, and that the gift of wealth implies the responsibility of benevolence. "May we make you our passover Lamb, Saviour of mankind. Close for us the dark, sad days of sin's bondage. May we constantly remember your wonderful love and sacrifice for us, in dying that we might be forgiven. And may our hearts ever keep their passover in gratitude and devotion. Amen."

"Help us today, dear Lord, to be willing to give us something we want to do, that we may help others who are weak. As we know that small vices of the great become the great vices of the small, so may we also realize that the little weaknesses of Christians lead to the great evils of those far gone in sin. Amen."
